First of all, you might be wondering how I got my most interesting name. Alas, it wasn't my mother's brainchild. It came from Captain Underpants, which is (to my wife's utter horror) my kids' favorite book. You can try it yourself! Just use Professor Poopypants's terrifying Name Change-O-Chart 2000

Next, I would very much like to keep this blog going but I am, among other things (just ask my wife, Mrs. Chickenshorts), impulsive, disorganized, and rather adolescent for my age (36). So I like the idea of posting once a week. I'm trying this organizing thing out for a little while. You see, right now, aside from my job which is, fortunately, very structured, I have many things I want to do but no discipline. If I had THAT, I would be able to do everything in small doses, rather than one thing in one very large dose. Right now I'm teaching myself how to play the guitar. I've been playing for four months and it's become an addiction--one that will probably come up often. In addition, I have been a drummer for fifteen years, a commissioned pencil artist for five years, a television editor and producer for twelve years, an aspiring writer since the time I learned to write, a skier, hiker, student of English and film, avid moviegoer, novice cook, and now I'm a rather inadequate toilet fixer, dish doer, carpet cleaner, and father of three boys and one girl who's not quite here yet. So that's me. I'll try this again in a week.
